PACT helps its clients to develop an effective plan for re-entry to close the revolving door of recidivism that presently controls their lives. PACT’s goal is to be a program that works with the client from the inside to the outside meaning physically, mentally and spiritually. PACT is a faith-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The PACT team has more than 40 years experience combined working in the PPS in prison ministry. The word 'pact' means a solemn agreement and to be of one mind; it is a covenant. The organization was born out of the team’s desire to make a covenant with all PPS prisoners to assist them in putting their lives back together. PACT was recognized as an incorporated non-profit organization in Pennsylvania on September 9, 2002 . PACT received a 501(c)(3) status on March 4, 2003. PACT engages its clients behind the prison walls and follows through with them to the outside. Our program timeframe is different from client to client and PACT does not guarantee or promise release from prison because of program involvement. The release of clients from prison remains in the control of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania State Judicial System and his/her involvement in the program does not interfere with that process in any way. Participants in the program are in constant contact with program leaders to immediately relay any complications that may hinder the progress. PACT then uses the proper procedures to insure their success. PACT in no way interferes with the guidelines and stipulations imposed by the Judicial System. Any client who is found in violation of their probation/parole is immediately removed from the program.
